“I was immediately intrigued by your world, the characters, and your classic style of writing. It brought to mind Louisa May Alcott and Frances Hodgson Burnett with a twist of fantasy.” – MJ Moores.
This comment on my writing made me extremely happy. I had taken a chance and submitted my novel to a publishing company…not only had my work been accepted, they had complimented my writing!

A lot of the time when I’m writing, I think of all the feedback I’ve been given by my editor. I love that she takes the time to explain her editing process, before breaking things apart. She also lays everything out on a scale, which makes it a lot easier to take in. I find her approach both constructive and encouraging. She made sure everything was clear from the beginning so that I wouldn’t be overwhelmed by her comments.
I ate her feedback up like crazy. I’m so excited for her future comments…like I absolutely adore feedback. I find it really helpful because I know that it will ultimately make my work better….ha…just realized I wrote “ate” and “feedback” in the same sentence. Nice.
Anyway, I felt like her comment is a bit of a teaser for what’s to come.
I initially shared the comment on Twitter as a response to @camillaraines post, where she asked the Writing Community what their most recent, positive comment on their work was.
I’m really loving all of these positivity posts in the community. There’s a lot going on right now, and I think even just a pinch of positivity is helpful.
